We were talking toRobert Stromberg , production designer on Avatar , for our third giant feature about the movie ’s design , which is come soon . Stromberg could n’t say much about the flick ’s sequel , except to say there have definitely been “ rumblings ” about the 2d moving-picture show . “ We ’ve chatted about sure things , ” says Stromberg . “ I ’m go to see Jim [ Cameron ] next Tuesday . I ’m sure we ’re going to let the cat out of the bag about it . ” And he echoes what others have said : the hard part was designing the technology in the first property to make Pandora and the motility - gaining control characters tangible . Now that those constituent are in spot , a continuation will go much quicker .
Adds Stromberg :
Jim and I , we ’ve talk about the invention of new areas and so on , but I think trying to … I think we did a pretty unspoilt job of coming up with something raw , so now we have to think about topping that , and that ’s fail to take some top dog scratching .
