Bowers & Wilkins make some of ourfavorite audio frequency hardware . We also happen to bonk AirPlay — so the pairing of the two should be terrific , right ? Sort of . The A7 speaker is tremendous — but it ’s just so , so expensive .
What Is It?
An $ 800 , AirPlay - enable talker .
Who’s it For?
Someone who wants to fill an entire room with one large honkin ’ speaker , and shaft of light music to it from their OS X or iOS twist .
Design
This is the just looking AirPlay utterer I ’ve ever check . It ’s difficult to summate shiny metal item to something without breaching cheapness , but the A7 does just that — spaceship chic .
Using It
AirPlay utterer ’ appealingness lies in their simplicity , and it ’s the same deal here : after setup , you just take the speaker from your Apple gadget ’s AirPlay menu , and swarm away . check that it ’s plug in .
The Best Part
Fantastically loud while remaining fabulously clear — this thing holds its ground against a large , multi - speaker setup .
Tragic Flaw
The price . A verbalizer that costs $ 800 is too much for almost everyone . The A7 sounds lovely , but you ’re pay a exchange premium for look and brand here .
This Is Weird…
I had to manually reset the A7 several time before it would let me use its companion app and link my web , but it was ok after that .
Should You Buy It?
Unless money is no objective to you , belike not . If it is ( and it likely is ) , you may give to buy two AirPlay speaker system for the price of this one . And it ’s hard to justify not doing so .
