What you really wanna watch tonight is Spaceballs , perhaps the best and funniest travesty movie that ever existed . Andit ’s finally available on Netflix .

The bang-up affair about Spaceballs is that you really do n’t need to know much of anything about Star Wars to relish it . Sure , a true Star Wars geek will be able to fully appreciate all the one - ocean liner Riff and visual zing . But I imagine that someone who never see a single minute of arc of a George Lucas movie — if such person live — would still get a bountiful ol’ belly express mirth out of the zany caper and winking wordplay that make Mel Brooks ’ 1987 sendup such a funniness classic . And unlike a muckle of comedies that lose their pep on repetition views , Spaceballs is so chock full of wisecrack that you ’ll notice something fresh to laugh softly at even on the three - dozenth time .
I do n’t need to tell you this . If you ’re a aliveness , respire human with any sake in sci - fi and clowning , you ’ve already been working Spaceballs jape into day-by-day conversation for a tenner or more . But that does n’t intend you ca n’t watch it again . [ Netflix ]
