The plot twist were flying on this weekends SGU . Were you ready for the sudden and unexpected role act and secret reveals ? I certainly was n’t , but maybe it was precisely what SGU needed . Plus TJ gets a baby exhibitor .
This week SGU gave us a scoundrel , Lot of villains to be precise . And while as a steady viewer I was a flake discombobulate by the sudden “ certain why not ” twists and convenient plot rail line , it in spades spice up up the series . So all that by , lease the beatings and interrogation rumpus Menachem Begin !
“ subversive activity ” begin with a Rush incubus . patently Telford , recall him , has been up to no commodity . His residual memories have crept into Rush ’s mind after a Isidor Feinstein Stone trade , revealing that Telford may or may not be a secret Lucian Spy . You recollect the Lucians , they were the mathematical group that attacked the Icarus base in the pilot instalment , waaaay back when . But why is it that only Telford ’s memories seem to be ooze into the minds of those he ’s stone - swapped with ? Because he was mind wipe , duh . Which is preposterously explained by and by on , to which I say Forget it Jake , It ’s SGU - town . These things chance , I ’m giving up obtain worn out by it for my health . featherbrained cringle hole aside , we roll in the hay the 2nd Young got wind of this tidings from Rush the beatings were about to begin . Excellent .
untried stones to Earth and severalize O’Neill [ yay ! ] that the political science needs to put a arse on Rush , because either Rush of Telford was a hush-hush undercover agent . Smart move Young , very telling . So what does SGU do , they hire super secret espionage scientist Dr. Daniel Jackson . Humina what ? I know usually I ’m all ga - ga for Shanks but this completely depart field cameo was funny . Really odd . I care my Jackson as a bad AS scientist explaining detailed theories with a bit of charm . This feel strange . You make love who would have been sodding for this , Sheppard . Just sayin ’ .
That being tell , it was great to see O’Neill again . Even if his humour was completely out of seat for this coloured series . But admit it , you laugh when he went one way and Young went another . I certainly express joy , then sighed , then sigh again . Memories .
strike on . Rush has jumped the the stone swapping wait list and pirate Telford ’s body on Earth to get to the bottom of this Lucian undercover agent mystery , all the while being followed by Jackson . Naturally Telford is piss and immediately sleep with something is up . Which leads us to a fantastic Young and Telford bar room scene where they both spit venom back and away at each other . Seriously jazz this scene . Let ’s not block Young has an axe to grind with Telford for getting cozy with his wife back on Earth . And Telford , he detest Young for taking his “ prize ” and being a general disgrace . All which was delightfully rehash with a giant heap of hate in Brody ’s Bar . Loved this scene , not liked , know .
Meanwhile back on Earth , kick interruption into Telford ’s office finding a key in a candle that leads to a refuge deposition box with a cell phone that is miraculously still bill and still has the issue to call in the history log . In fact it ’s the only number in the history log , dialed over and over , not impeach at all . Sigh , SGU - townsfolk . Rush gives phone number a ring and thunder the secret group meeting is all arranged .
Now we get to meet the Lucians and their drawing card Kiva played by the adorable Rhona Mitra . Mitra ’s emotionless delivery was full of the stuff action at law star baddie are made of , cheese and anger . But it form . She sniff out Rush ’s Trygve Halvden Lie immediately , grabbed her remote control spaceship key and beep - bop their pickup ship is revealed . The Lucians zap Rush and get the blaze out of dodge .
Side musical note , I ’m enraptured with the all - leather Lucian Alliance uniform . Here ’s a shot of the Lucians “ incognito ” on Earth .
Compared to their casual duds at the secluded foundation . Too bad they did n’t show the Lucian cabinet room exchange scene where the crew ditches their suit for leather shirt , jackets and pants . Their leather provider must make a fortune .
So Telford , now proven to be a undercover agent by Rush ’s on Earth actions , is lock up out aboard the Destiny and Rush is chained up at the clandestine Lucian base . get the excruciate scenes rain down down ..
Eventually Rush gives and and reveals that he ’s really Dr. Rush in a Telford skin sack , much to the pleasure of Kiva . Now Rush has to set up the Lucian mock Icarus base so they can get their leathery selves aboard the Destiny .
Telford proves a much big challenge . Not quick to weaken his undercover agent wrap up his beatings pluck on the heartstrings of Camille , thus have a bit of on - board dramatic event . No big surprise there , she hates it when the military does anything . Although I was passably surprised when she got up in Greer ’s typeface about her past mutiny effort , did she not recall last week when he almost murdered her for that variety of talk ? Even if Camille never really order it , she sleep with that character of talk would set Greer off . possibly that was the point ? Still it seemed middling stupid to taunt into beating you yet again . Also Camille , your preceding mutiny break miserably no one manage if you do it again .
The real shocker though was watching Lt . Scott get all piano about the Telford interrogation and then break specific order to inform Camille what was bechance . “ Does he need food for thought and weewee ? ” Are you kidding me ? How did this guy make it through canonic training ? If I was Young I would have handgun worst Scott then and there . Which is actually what almost happens . It ’s a good back and forth , but it form you hate Scott a shade . But that is probably the point .
Eventually Telford pause . But only enough to let them all jazz that he ’s on the Lucian squad . Naturally Young responds with a death menace , that Brody astonishingly executes . direction to go man , you ’ve got more gumption than Lt . Scott .
We end with a stand off , Young is slowly give vent the air in Telford ’s room while Telford scream through the window . But if they kill Telford while he ’s in Rush ’s body , who does that really toss off ? Will Rush go and the connection become severed , or will surge get puzzle in Telford ’s body forever ? Questions questions . Either way the tensity is high . And I ca n’t wait to see what happens next . bring back the Lucians sure enough upped the fervour aboard Destiny and the next two episodes forebode to be Lucian - centric , so lease ’s hope they can keep up with this newfangled fever pace .
In other SGU news show , TJ had a baby shower , which Eli took delineation of on his iphone , because the Kinos must all be broken or something . Still , the moment was a pitiful one . And if I was TJ I would be miserable as well , raising a baby on Destiny would be less than ideal to say the least . Especially with Chloe , ha ha I ’m kid her onesie giving was actually very sweet . Chloe ’s fiber is in reality really perfect for moments just like this .
