Google loves its Easter eggs , and apparently one has been hiding aright under our noses in Wear osmium for quite some time .
If you happen to have a Wear OS smartwatch , there are actually two little surprises program into the nonremittal Flashlight app if you three-fold - strike then mechanical press . The first is just a colorful whirl of lights — an Easter ballock that was spotted as early on as four years agoby eagle - eyed Redditors . The second is a mini drum sequencer . Getting either to come out take away some trial - and - error , and it does feel a bit random as to what speed of tapping and accommodate gets what to come out . That said , you should be able to get it to pop up comparatively quickly if you stick to double - tapping and keeping . This Easter egg wasinitially descry on Redditabout two year ago , but it seems to have largely flown under the radio detection and ranging .
The drum sequenator is a colored four - by - four power system . you could wiretap each dot to customize the beat . allot to9to5 Google , the blue dot represent a beef drum , with blue green being a trap , purple a cowbell , and red an open hi - hat .

To hear the rataplan , your Wear OS watch does need to have a built - in loudspeaker or connect to one via Bluetooth . A built - in loudspeaker is a relatively new addition to bear OS smartwatches , but it ’s still not a pass on . I recently tested theSkagen Falster 3 , which does have one . Yet I ’m in the process of reviewing the newly releasedSuunto 7 , which does n’t . I tried out the metal drum sequenator on the Suunto 7 , but had to connect it to a Bluetooth speaker to learn anything . Which you know , is still a pretty bang-up little political party magic trick .
Still , this is a pretty rarefied Easter egg . The great barrier is that you have to own a damn Wear o ticker in the first place , which let ’s face it — even though Wear OS has the most options for mechanical man - friendly smartwatches , they ’re not the most democratic to find in the wild . That and the solitary existence of this Easter egg — although admittedly fun — probably is n’t go to deepen anybody ’s mind that jade operating system lag far behind its competitor .
