For her Master ’s project , graphic designerBarbara Bernátcreated a fictional currency she calls the Hungarian Euro . Instead of people or monument , the obverse and reverse gear of Bernat ’s notes boast beautiful illustration of European animals and plant ; beneath ultraviolet light light , the pinched build of the former become seeable .
“ I wanted to taste something challenging , and government note purpose was a Modern area for me , ” Bernát order io9 . She opted to render a raw approach by impersonate animals instead of historical figure . ”I desire to choose a playful topic , ” she says , “ and I ’ve loved nature since a youthful age . ”
On her Behance Sir Frederick Handley Page , Bernat has documented how she design and prepare five appellation from a total of ten separate copperplate etchings . Bernát tells io9 she has some experience in etch , and that this phase of reproduction allowed her to imitate a technique called intaglio printing , a process used at one metre in the large graduated table production of things like banknotes . “ It is very pleasant for me to work with literal materials instead of digital media , ” she says . “ The etching print gives much more convincing consequence . ”

Below are detailed photographs of her finished up-to-dateness , a pic of her preliminary sketches , and an image of her finished plates . “ I used the original proportion of the existing euro banker’s bill for my design,”she writes on her Behance page , where you could see many more photos document her creative , design , and printing processes . “ As the denomination increases , the size of each Federal Reserve note ” grows . “ The animals also represent the growth of value . ”
