“This year he could possibly be a merman because ofThe Little Mermaid, but we shall see if he wears a fin that is made for a 6'3” man. Ace and I are very chill about playing dress up. We are very competitive when it comes to how much candy we can accumulate in a couple of hours."

The “Public Affair” singer also revealed a few of her family’s traditions for the fall and winter holidays. “Our family traditions are really all about one thing — being together,” she says. “We are all homebodies it turns out.”

“My family is all about the seasons — Maxwell is already in Christmas mode! She has been playing Christmas music on the way to school, already got a little Christmas tree for her room and is spraying pine scent all over our house.”

“I was telling her she skipped over a few big ones, but I can’t fault her too much, I love Christmas time and being festive, so I guess the apple (or ornament in this case) didn’t fall too far from the tree,” she says.

Simpson shares her three kids — Maxwell, Birdie, 4, and Ace, 10 — with husbandEric Johnson, 44.

In September, the mom of three sent her kidsoff to school again, as seen in images Simpsonpreviously shared on Instagram.

The photos featured Birdie and Maxwell rocking matching blue plaid and white uniforms, while Ace went with a red polo and khaki shorts.

“We think we are excited for our kids to finally go back to school until they bring home binders of homework and then realize we went back to school too 😜,” Simpson joked in her Instagram caption.

The proud mom opened up toAccessin August about her relationship with Johnson and their little ones, explaining that it’s “good to keep the romance there, even with three kids on top of our head.”

“It’s hard, but he’ll leave me little notes, because he’ll wake up earlier than me. He’ll leave me little letters,” Simpson shared.

“There’s a lot of things that make me like, ‘I can’t wait to get my hands on him later.’ I think you have to have those little things as a couple that are just between you two,” she added.
