Nashvilleis migrating from the small screen to the Big Apple!
Seven months after theConnie BrittonandHayden Panettiere-led country-music drama took its final bow on television, Lionsgate and Broadway producer Scott Delman haveannounced plans to take it to Broadway, where Delman will take on the role of lead producer,Deadlinereports.
“Nashville, with its complex, relatable characters and sweeping emotional gestures, has all of the narrative elements that I look for in great theatrical source material,” 10-time Tony Award winner Delman said in a statement, according toDeadline.

In his statement, Delman said he was “honored to be a part of this new phase of their live entertainment division” and plans to produce a show that will “deliver Broadway’s first score of true contemporary country music — agenre that has exploded with mainstream audiencesin recent years,”Deadlinereports.
Nashville, which ran from 2012 to 2016 on ABC before airing its last two seasons on CMT and Hulu, saw various characters’ music-centered story lines play out in the titular city.

Lionsgate Senior Vice President of Global Live & Location Based Entertainment, Jenefer Brown, said in a statement that the show will “[kick] off an exciting slate of iconic Lionsgate properties that we will be bringing to a variety of platforms, transforming them intoevents that will expand the viewing experiencefor their fans and take our already successful live entertainment business to the next level,” according toDeadline.
