Paris Hilton’s secrets are catching up with her on the second season ofParis In Love.

In the trailer for the upcoming season of the Peacock series, the 42-year-old heiress explains her decision to hide that she and husbandCarter Reumwerewelcoming their sonPhoenix, now 9 months, via surrogate in January.

“I’ve given my whole life to everyone for so long. It’s just been really important to me to keep this a secret. This is the first time that something’s just mine,” she says as she and Carter anxiously await meeting their first child in the hospital.

“I’m gonna be a mom,” she tells the cameras. “Literally no one knows, my own family doesn’t know.”

Paris tells her husband that she wanted to avoid a media circus at the hospital, saying, “If people found out, there would be paparazzi all over Cedars[-Sinai hospital].”

Her family was shocked to learn of Phoenix’s arrival. Paris walks into holding her son and tells her motherKathy Hilton, “I got you a surprise. This is your grandson, Phoenix.”

“You’re serious?” Kathy, 64, asks before getting emotional.

Despite keeping his son’s arrival private, motherhood appears to be a fit for Paris, who says, “My life is finally complete. I’m so obsessed.” She adds that Phoenix is “so beautiful, so perfect.”

In addition to being a new mother, Paris is navigating the fallout after her family was stunned to first find outbombshellsfrom the press that appeared in her bookParis: The Memoir. In the book,The Simple Lifealum detailed her past relationships and living withADHDandPTSD from alleged abuse she experienced at boarding school.

“It’s not an easy subject,” she tells her husband. “Writing this book was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. Writing about things that I’ve never told anyone.”

During a conversation with her mother, she admits was “embarrassed and scared” to reveal the truth to them.

“The fact that you couldn’t come to us and we had to read about it online and in a book,” Nicky, 40, tells her sister as she breaks down in tears. “It’s not right for us to just read about the media.”

Nicky also advises her sister to enjoy motherhood, sharing, “They’re small for such a small window [of time].”

Still, Paris is afraid to miss out on opportunities, saying, “It’s hard to say no” — which her sister calls “greedy.”

Paris clarifies she likes to “work hard,” but a counselor offers another reason that the star may be prioritizing work, saying, “People who are trauma victims have a very hard time happily bonding with their children.”

In July, Paris opened up to PEOPLE about how she istaking a step back from workto spend time with her son.

“It’s definitely a lot,” she said, “just with everything I’m doing, and then being a mom on top of it all, but he is just my world and makes my life feel so complete.”

“This has been the best time of my life. He’s just everything to me, so I’ve been saying no to so many offers and things that are coming in because I want to spend as much time as possible with him,” she added of Phoenix.

“Yeah, my priorities have just completely shifted and I always put him first.”
