Billionaire real estate developer Harry Macklowe was looking to make “a proclamation of love.” So, he had giant photos of his and his new wife’s faces posted on the side of one of his buildings in New York City.
Macklowe, 81, recently wed French businesswoman Patricia Landeau after a contentious months-long divorce trial from his former wife Linda Macklowe, according totheNew York Times. After the wedding, Macklowe was looking for a way to show off new portraits of the couple.
“My wife looks gorgeous, and I love the picture of me,” Macklowe told theTimes. “Since I wasn’t getting married during the summer in the Hamptons. I wasn’t able to hire an airplane with a banner to go up and down the shoreline. I thought: ‘I own a building. Why don’t I just hang a banner from my own building?”

“She looks considerably younger than he is and I’m certain the previous wife is not happy about the circumstances,” one womantold WABC.
As for Linda, a vice president and trustee of the Guggenheim Museum, theTimesreports that she recently had a contract to buy an apartment in the building, but has since been permitted to exit the agreement.
“It’s weird to see and I feel like if I had that kind of money, I wouldn’t need the whole of New York City see my and my other half’s face on the side of a building,” student Teya Goakey told theTimes. “That’s a private thing. I wouldn’t need the whole city to know of my wedding.”
Another person, Allen Gross, added of Macklowe: “He could have done something much better, something that would attract people’s attention. That’s not going to do it.”
